General Description  | The Student Service Associate is an initial contact with student athletes seeking entry into the college seeking services. The Associate will provide guidance and direction; therefore she/he must be fully familiar with every aspect of student services that a prospective or current student may utilize.

Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities 
• Provides direction, process overview and information to students, parents, and others regarding: the College admission process, registration, financial aid, student account functions, College programs, activities, and student services.  Provides referrals to other College departments as needed.
• Encourage students to schedule meetings with their academic advisor and underscore the significance of actively reviewing their educational plans.
• Monitors services and traffic flow in the Glasser Center for Student Athlete Academic Achievement.
• Provides administrative support including (but not limited to) heavy telephone and in person inquiry, preparing correspondence and mailings, data input, filing reports, scanning of documents to the College Life/Athletics department.
• Supports Student Service Generalists, Specialists and Coordinators in performance of their duties as it relates to programming (i.e.: Financial Aid Literacy workshops, New Student Orientation, Athletic programming).
• Ability to exercise impeccable customer service skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with students and the College community.  Must be able to service multiple students at once.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements  | Associate degree required.
Experience  | • Minimum of one (1) year of office & customer service experience.
Competencies and Skills Required  | • Competency in Word, Excel, Outlook & Windows required.
• Proficient in utilizing multiple computer platforms & applications simultaneously.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 
• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.
• Some physical effort is required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Work may require long periods of standing.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel required.

Salary  | $41,562
