Posting Summary
Oversee and provide leadership for student-related services in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to support University academic success, enrollment management, and retention goals. Lead the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies that impact enrollment management, advising, and student success. Oversee initiatives designed to cultivate relationships between students and advisors, specifically the first-year experience. Oversee onboarding initiatives including new student orientation and internal transfer application management. Supervise CALS Student Services staff and enhance staff skills through training and professional development activities. In consultation with the Associate Dean, collect and utilize data to make informed decisions with respect to advising, melt mitigation, retention, and compliance initiatives. Responsible for case management for students struggling personally and academically and make referrals where necessary. Oversees all student records related to academic standing, degree completion, transfer, and graduation.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years’ experience working with students, counseling, or other related experience required. Effective ability to collaborate and lead a variety of team members is required. Strong electronic, written, and oral communication is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with University student information systems. Ability to demonstrate adaptability to change required.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. Mentoring and advising or leadership experience preferred.
Anticipated Pay Range $64,000 - $74,000
Other Information
The student services team is generally on-site, but allowed to telework one day per week.
Special Conditions Non-standard work hours required, A probationary period may be required, Background Check required for this position
