Overview:
The Academic Scheduling Office is seeking a positive, customer-service oriented administrative professional to join our small but dynamic and collaborative team. The Student Services Coordinator I position serves USU academic departments and Statewide Campuses, in updating and maintaining the academic schedule for Utah State University. This person is an important team member in understanding and interpreting university policies and procedures, systems, and programs pertaining to academic scheduling and space utilization.
This position could work from the Logan Main campus or the USU Eastern Price campus. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and programming of the academic schedule.
- Contribute to the high level of communication, collaboration, and a strong working relationship with all campus stakeholders.
- Seek solutions to unforeseen problems while adhering to university policies and procedures regarding academic scheduling.
- Support and advance the mission of the Registrar's Office.
- Collaborate with the Registration Team regarding the registration processes in the student information system (Banner).
- Become proficient in USU's student information system
- Pursue innovative approaches to integrate office functions and technologies to serve USU students.
- Perform other job-related duties or projects as needed.
- Comply with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years office-related experience or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education plus experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A combination of four years of education and/or experience.
- Experience using the Banner student information system as a student or employee.
- Experience in higher education.
- Understanding of University Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and databases.
- Excellent interpersonal and proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Skilled in creative problem solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a customer-service-based office, and to manage multiple tasks in a timely, efficient, and detail-oriented manner.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and with a team.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, and discretion.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload appropriately, as well as the willingness to adjust responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and high level of professionalism.

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
