Compensation for this position is expected to range between $23.00 and $25.00 per hour, in alignment with what California Baptist University (CBU) reasonably anticipates paying for this role. The final rate may vary depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and prevailing market conditions. | Summary | The Student Success Coach I supports students throughout their academic journey by providing guidance, connection, and coordinated support from enrollment through completion. This role serves as a consistent, student-centered resource who helps learners navigate academic pathways, understand requirements, and access available services. By monitoring student trends and collaborating with campus partners, the Coach contributes to improving processes, strengthening engagement efforts, and supporting institutional goals. The position blends advising, communication, and program support to help students stay on track and confident in their progress. |

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities | include the following, other duties may be assigned: 1. Serve as the primary non-faculty point of contact for students, building supportive relationships that promote satisfaction and persistence through remote communication and in-person interaction. 2. Advise students on academic programs, policies, scheduling, degree and credential requirements, including complex or non-linear pathways. 3. Coordinate with campus partners and refer students to appropriate campus resources to address needs beyond the coach’s direct scope and facilitate timely, effective support. 4. Initiate and maintain proactive, targeted communication with students to support engagement, retention, and re-recruitment efforts. 5. Track, analyze, and interpret student needs and experiences to inform improvements to programs, policies, and processes. 6. Support recruitment, re-recruitment, and retention goals through outreach campaigns and group information sessions. 7. Review academic records and documentation to verify completion of academic and credential requirements and recommend eligible candidates to CTC. 8. Collaborate with program and unit leaders by sharing insights that support student success, institutional effectiveness, and CTC accreditation expectations. 9. Coordinate, participate, and/or manage School of Education events and initiatives that advance core values, student engagement, and community partnerships. |

| Education and/or Experience | Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as an academic advisor in a higher education setting is desirable. |
