About the role The Graduate College at the University of Vermont seeks a Student Success Coordinator to help cultivate a vibrant, supportive graduate community. The coordinator will champion academic achievement, build community, and foster holistic well‑being for UVM’s diverse body of master’s and doctoral students through proactive outreach, programming, and individualized support. This position serves as a central resource for graduate student success and well-being by coordinating access to academic, wellness, and intercultural support services. Responsibilities include acting as a primary contact for students and faculty, organizing orientation and campus resource events, and promoting academic achievement through advising, tutoring, and mentoring programs. The role also involves liaising with health and accessibility services to ensure academic continuity, advancing intercultural excellence initiatives, and developing programs that foster belonging and equity. Additional duties include managing sensitive data and records, preparing detailed communications and reports, and maintaining thorough knowledge of university policies.

| Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years related experience to include student support role and documented experience supporting intercultural required. Basic knowledge of mental health issues common in student populations required. Confident verbal communication skills to engage students, faculty and staff. Proficient user of MS Office suite and software applications to produce documents, reports and seminar and workshop materials. Effective written communication, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality required. |
| Desirable Qualifications | Experience working in a College/University setting highly desirable, preferably with graduate population. Mental health counseling experience highly desirable. Event management experience and digital media skills highly desirable. Experience working with international students desirable. Experience with Banner, Repgen, Canva, Navigate360 and Drupal desirable. |
