Subject Matter Expert Advisor - Leadership in Literacy Science & Systems Change Full Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Through the ALLIED Hub (Advocacy, Leadership, Learning, Implementation & Education Policy), the Subject Matter Expert Advisor will provide specialized content expertise for doctoral-level EdD courses within the concentration Leadership in Literacy Science & Systems Change. This role is advisory and contributory, supporting Lead Course Subject Matter Experts by ensuring conceptual accuracy and research-to-practice coherence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Providing strategic, content-level guidance to support the development of leadership-focused doctoral coursework.
  • Collaborating closely with the Lead Course Subject Matter Expert, with the primary architect of the course.
  • Reviewing and providing expert feedback on detailed weekly syllabi;
  • Validating leadership-focused learning outcomes;
  • Recommending seminal and current research sources;
  • Reviewing lecture outlines or scripts for accuracy and leadership framing;
  • Recording a limited number of lecture segments if requested;
  • Curating supplemental leadership-focused resources;
  • Teach or co-teach the course during its first offering as requested;
  • Determining resources or handouts that could also support the ALLIED Hub;
  • Writing for the ALLIED Hub Substack if requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's or Doctoral degree (doctoral preferred)
  • Specialized expertise relevant to course content
  • Experience applying research in leadership or systems contexts
  • Strong written communication skills
