Job Description
The Supervisor of Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities oversees the operations of the office of Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities (ATSD) within the Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC). Under the direction of the TEMC assistant director and director, the supervisor ensures that students eligible to receive accommodated testing are provided appropriate accommodations in a secure and professional testing environment; hires, supervises, trains, and schedules professional staff, graduate assistants, and student employees; develops and maintains policies, procedures, and reports; and communicates to faculty, administration, and students the laws, regulations, rules, policies, and practices relevant to the operations of ATSD.

Job Duties 
1. As supervisor of ATSD, responsible for all day-to-day operations necessary to provide services and oversee the administration of academic testing for student clients registered with Disability Services (DS) at Texas State University.

2. Modify, print, and verify assessments to meet ODS-approved accommodations.

3. Research and advise about assistive technology and accessibility issues as they relate to testing and access to testing (both paper and online) for individuals with disabilities.

4. Communicate laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and best practices related to test administration, test security, and testing accommodations for individuals with disabilities to staff, students, parents, faculty, community members, and other stakeholders.

5. Liaison with ODS regarding the implementation of testing accommodations. Liaison with other offices and faculty as needed.

6. Address issues and complaints submitted by faculty and students.

7. Recruit and hire student employees.

8. Supervise and train professional staff and student employees.

9. Manage and work with appropriate personnel to maintain the Accessible Information System (AIM) modules related to testing.

10. Create, develop, and review ATSD policies, procedures, reports, and manuals, recommend ATSD goals and security upgrades, and maintain various logs.

11. Research and make decisions about hardware and software needs for ATSD. Recommend improvements and upgrades for all technology in ATSD as appropriate. Work with TEMC and TXST technical support personnel as needed for troubleshooting and research support.

12. Perform other duties as assigned.
