Posting Summary  | The Sustainability Education and Engagement Coordinator advances University of Vermont’s sustainability goals by leading peer-to-peer education, developing and implementing sustainability marketing and communications campaigns, managing employee engagement programs, and coordinating sustainability projects and initiatives across the Office of Sustainability. This person coordinates the Eco-Reps program, supervising approximately 20 undergraduate students, and provides program management support for initiatives such as Sustainability Ambassadors, the Campus Sustainability Series, the Sustainable Campus Fund, and the Sustainable Solutions Lab. As the office lead for marketing and communications, this person develops campaign-based outreach strategies and creates and manages story, web and social media content aligned with University brand and communications standards. The position blends student education and development, applied communications and marketing, program and project coordination, and support services to advance campus-wide sustainability engagement.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, education, communications, marketing, public relations, or other applicable field. Four years combined experience in communications, marketing, engagement campaigns, outreach/education activities, project management, program implementation, or administrative support. Supervisory experience or similar coordination of students, ideally college aged. Strong communications skills (writing, conflict management, presentation, inter-personal), including the ability to translate complex sustainability topics for diverse audiences and apply sound judgement in sensitive communications. Experience in developing and executing outreach or marketing campaigns, social media management, website management, graphic design, story writing, report writing and data visualization. Ability to initiate and implement projects with teams and work independently with little direct oversight. High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, excellent file management and ability to organize collaborative feedback processes.
Desirable Qualifications  | Master’s degree Experience designing or delivering sustainability education or peer education programs. Experience coordinating communications or marketing activities in a higher education setting. Familiarity with inclusive and culturally responsive engagement practices. Experience supporting student professional development through mentoring and supervision.
Anticipated Pay Range  | $65,000-$75,000
