Job Summary
Associate System Administrator

In this entry-level role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to maintain Windows server environments, monitor system performance, apply upgrades and security patches, and contribute to a stable infrastructure. The Platform Windows team currently supports 900+ Windows Servers for the Purdue University system. The systems that we support host everything from websites to business applications - there is abundant opportunity to learn and grow in this role.

What We’re Looking For
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field preferred
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Entry-level professional we are asking for experience in the Windows server environment
Preferred:
Experience supporting a Microsoft Windows environment
Skills Required:
  • Fundamental knowledge of overall system management
  • An understanding of networking and distributed computing tools and techniques
  • Willingness to learn new tools and techniques to integrate new technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently with general supervision on daily tasks and projects
  • Independent problem-solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
Ability to:
  • work productively as part of a team to complete larger projects
  • learn and use scripting languages and other tools to automate routine tasks
  • work an on-call rotation, typically one week every 5-7 weeks

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $54,324 to $57,720 annually commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
