The role involves managing enterprise database infrastructure, supporting database software lifecycle, automation with Ansible, high-availability, disaster recovery, and operational support for platforms including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Yugabyte on Linux and Windows servers.

Highlights
  • Install, configure, and patch relational database management systems (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, YugabyteDB).
  • Maintain and execute Ansible playbooks for automation of patching and configuration management.
  • Support high-availability clusters and participate in disaster recovery testing and backup validation.
  • Assist in infrastructure design, requirement gathering, vendor analysis, and proof-of-concept testing.
  • Participate in a shared 24/7 on-call rotation to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
  • Technical skills required: Ansible, Oracle Data Guard, SQL Always On, clustering, OEM, Git, Shell/PowerShell, RHEL Linux, and Windows Server.
  • Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant experience or high school diploma with eight years of experience.
  • Preferred skills: advanced HA/DR experience, familiarity with VMware or cloud database services (AWS/Azure), experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Salary range: $90,000 to $105,000, commensurate with education and experience.
  • Supports the University of Florida’s mission by maintaining critical database infrastructures for enterprise IT systems.
