Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Experience maintaining security standards, system documentation, and technology inventory.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to end users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware systems.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain computer systems, networks, and servers across diverse technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience providing IT support across multiple departments or business units, ideally within a university or higher education environment.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including direct customer support and systems management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale client computing environments (1,000+ devices).
  • Familiarity with SaaS administration, AV systems, or classroom and lab support environments.
  • Strong record of collaboration across IT divisions, including networking, information security, and academic computing.
  • Experience setting up or managing digital signage, virtualized environments, or server-based computing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, supervise, or mentor staff or student employees in IT best practices.
  • Experience leading technology implementation or modernization projects in collaboration with non-technical stakeholders.
  • IT experience in higher education or research technology support.
Job Description
The Systems Analyst I will provide system support to various University departments and perform tasks such as recommending, developing, and training users in software applications.
Job Duties
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all research-related IT needs, including access to institutional systems, SaaS platforms, and software/hardware coordination.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Operations (ITBO), Information Security, and other IT units to align research requests with existing tools, contracts, and university standards.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between research faculty, staff, and IT service areas to ensure efficient, policy-aligned technology solutions.
  • Assess and document research technology needs, translating them into actionable requirements for technical teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and help streamline technology onboarding, procurement, and support for research projects.
  • Participate as a member of project teams,representing research interests in technology planning, procurement, and implementation.
  • Develop reports and process documentation to support transparency, tracking, and communication across research and IT units.
