About the role
As a Systems Engineer II will support our AWS Cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational tasks. Working in partnership with product and engineering teams, this role involves supporting deployment, troubleshooting, and automation initiatives, contributing to live products, and supporting process improvements.

About the team
This collaborative team of AWS Systems Engineers is entrusted with ensuring all products within our Data Engineering domain are flawlessly scaled with our AWS Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting cloud infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a cloud environment (AWS)
  • Assisting in automating operational tasks and workflows to improve efficiency
  • Implementation of observability through monitoring tools like NewRelic
  • Contributing to the implementation of scalable, resilient application architectures
  • Supporting documentation and operational procedures to ensure best practices
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives
  • Supporting process improvements and automation efforts
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues, escalating as needed

Requirements
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, or DevOps tasks
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS), a good understanding of Cloud and DevOps tools, and a proactive attitude toward operational support and automation
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Scripting skills in Python
  • Hands on experience of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes through Helm
  • Support and troubleshooting skills in cloud and containerized environments
  • A proactive approach to automating repetitive tasks and operational workflows
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including system administration, command-line tools, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with continuous integration tools like Github Actions
  • Assist in daily support of the systems/products assigned, through early detection and pursuit of changes in system responses or operation
  • Work closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting, and to assist them in their analysis and problem recovery
  • Proper documentation and closure of tasks, changes, and requests
