Experience using content managers for web design. Knowledge of Adobe Products, including InDesign and Photoshop. Knowledge of MS Office Suite. Experience installing/troubleshooting/maintaining computers and peripherals, including printers. Strong written and verbal skills, with ability to present technical information clearly to a non-technical audience. Experience with both Windows and OSX operating systems. Strong organizational skills.

Job Description  | The Systems Support Specialist II acts as site owner for the Department of English website and collaborates with Chair’s office and Director of Communications to ensure the site is up-to-date and accurate. The support specialist works with the Chair’s office, Director of Communications, and other department staff to provide support for digital/print materials for departmental events. In addition, the support specialist is responsible for providing first-call support for Department of English classrooms and the Dean’s Office staff. The support specialist works closely with the Microcomputer Lab Coordinator to ensure that all technology concerns are resolved in a timely fashion.

Job Duties  | Manage, maintain, and update departmental website(s) using the university content manager. Manage rotation of digital signs with the Director of Communications. Submit and manage print orders at request of Chair’s office and Director of Communications. Provide first-line support for Liberal Arts Dean’s Office. Maintain inventory of hardware for Liberal Arts Dean’s Office and Liberal Arts Advising Center. Manage events calendar on the department website. Provide support to the Director of Communications and Chair’s office for materials for departmental events using InDesign and/or Photoshop. Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot PC/Mac hardware, software, and peripherals. Train users on equipment and software. Provide first-line support for faculty members experiencing problems in classrooms. Act as liaison between faculty and ITAC for classroom concerns; escalate any issues to the necessary representatives and; ensure that all classroom issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Act as back-up support for Microcomputer Lab Coordinator. Perform other duties as assigned.
