Training and Content Specialist
The Training and Content Specialist is responsible for developing and training employees in the knowledge needed for specific positions with the Company. In addition, this position is responsible for developing content and/or content platforms which provide automated training to incoming employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create, maintain, and modify Learning Management System (LMS) training content; including, but not limited to multimedia courses, text files, infographics, visual aids, reference files, tests and quizzes, and step-by step instructions for daily tasks.
- Adhere to training and adult-learning best practices as outlined by of Supervisor.
- Identify and assess training needs within the Company.
- Meet with managers and supervisors to ascertain training needs.
- Conduct training surveys.
- Develop and implement stand-alone teaching materials and learning literature.
- Teach skills; such as, computer applications, phone systems, product assembly, policies and procedures, and inventory planning.
- Direct structured learning experiences.
- Conduct meetings and presentations on learning material.
- Plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities.
- Train new hires; as well as, veteran employees for specific jobs, as needed.
- Conduct assessment sessions to determine the current level of skills needed and help employees improve upon or enhance existing skills.
- Create monitored simulations and problem-solving scenarios.
- Conduct training presentations and lectures.
- Execute large-scale training and quality-assurance campaigns.
- Assist with employee onboarding and new-hire experience.
- Safeguard confidential medical records and complies with all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to medical records. Assures compliance with all HIPPAA regulations concerning use, retrieval, storage, and sharing of medical records.
- Any other duties as required of similar or lesser nature as required.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience with online collaboration tools (i.e., Trello, Teams, Drop Box, One Drive, Slack, Planner).
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Intermediate to advance skill level with Microsoft Office (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Strong attention to details, efficient and highly organized.
- Experience working with voice-over talent.
- Hands on experience with instructional design and instructional technology.
- Ability to create instructional material according to learning best practices.
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts.
- Litigation industry exposure is a plus.
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule and available to work occasional overtime as required.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Works well independently and with other department members.
- Ability to work remotely when required.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor of Science in Education, Training, HR or related field.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is not a supervisory position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.
