Position Summary
This position is responsible for administering, evaluating, and implementing training seminars, workshops, and programs related to the Emergency Management program at UI Health. These programs and responsibilities include facilitating disaster, decontamination, evacuation drills, business continuity/resilience planning, and the associated training to prepare for such events. Additional responsibilities include helping the Director and Assistant Director of Environment of Care manage the care environment of UI Health.

Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate and/or assist in developing and implementing hospital and ambulatory care disaster drills, which include but are not limited to:
CHSCPR sponsored city-wide drill
Evacuation drills
Decontamination drills
Code eMR downtime drills
Code Silver Active Shoot Drills
Code Pink Drills
Business Continuity/Resilience Planning
Other training and in-services as required
Co-chair of the Emergency Management Committee.
Co-represent and attend CHSCPR meetings and subcommittees as assigned on behalf of UI Health, including All Partners Meetings.
Participate in the following task forces/subcommittees
Downtime Forms Task Force
Code Pink Subcommittee
Security Subcommittee
Emergency Management Subcommittee
UI Health Workplace Violence Committee
Environment of Care Committee
Assist the Assistant Director & Director in:
Prepare and present all quarterly and annual reports of the Emergency Management Committee.
With the annual budgeting for the Environment of Care and Emergency Management Department.
Reviews and recommends Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that UI Health personnel use in response to emergencies.
In updating the Learning Management System modules related to Emergency Management and Environment of Care.
Updating and creating business continuity and resilience plans for UI Health.
In developing and implementing the Emergency Management program, including all quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Maintaining and updating emergency management inventory and supplies.
Prepare all meeting documents for the Emergency Management Committee, including meeting agenda and minutes.
Assist in the preparation and review of Facility Updates and other communications.
Attend and assist in the management of the Environment of Care Committee.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Any one or any combination of the following, totaling four years (48 months), from the categories below:
    • credit for college training leading to a major or concentration in education or other fields related to training and development such as human resource administration or business administration or closely related fields
      • 30 semester hours equals 12 months
      • 60 semester hours equals 24 months
      • 90 semester hours equals 36 months
      • 120 semester hours or a Bachelor's Degree equals 48 months
    • credit for college training leading to a major or concentration in fields other than those previously listed
      • Bachelor’s Degree equals 3 years (36 months)
      • Master’s Degree equals 4 years (48 months)
    • work experience as a human resource or training professional
  • Two years of professional work experience in the training and development profession 1
1 A Master's degree in education or other fields closely related to training and development (such as human resource administration or business administration) or a Master's degree with a concentration in these fields may be substituted for one year of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Hospital Administration preferred. 
  • Environment of Care administration experience. 
  • Demonstrated training delivery skills
  • Ability to manage goals and deadlines while handling multiple projects
  • Ability to consult and interact with various levels of leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
