Position Overview
 
The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering engaging, effective training that equips customers and HealthStream employees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to effectively use their HealthStream software solutions. This role provides training across the customer journey, including initial 1:1 and group virtual sessions, refresher webinars, and onsite engagements. In addition, the Training Specialist collaborates with key HealthStream stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain training programs and materials that evolve with product functionality and audience needs.
 
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.
  • Deliver engaging, product-focused virtual and onsite training to HealthStream customers and employees 
  • Design learner-centered training that applies adult learning principles and best practices to promote engagement and retention
  • Reviews and updates training content regularly to ensure accuracy and alignment with product releases, process changes, and learner needs
  • Track training activity, attendance, and customer and internal feedback to continuously improve delivery and content
  • Maintains records of customer training activities to ensure service continuity across all departments 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Implementations, Customer Success, and other internal teams to align training with customer needs and timelines and support a seamless training experience.
  • Conducts or participates in product demonstrations and assists sales team(s) as needed
  • Assists with onboarding new training team members, as requested, by sharing product knowledge, training processes, and facilitation best practices
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Manager
 
Qualifications
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, education, instructional design, communications, business, biology, healthcare, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Registered Nurse preferred for roles supporting clinical solutions; other relevant clinical or healthcare experience may be considered.
  • Experience in software training, customer education, clinical education, instructional design, or a related training role.
  • Experience within the healthcare industry, including clinical education or staff development, is a plus.
  • Previous experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) and using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
  • Must have or be willing to acquire a working knowledge of HealthStream platform and content products, from both the administrator and end-user levels.
 
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
  • Professional level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills across virtual, onsite, 1:1, and group training settings.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM platform to prepare for and document training engagements.
  • Instructional design skills, including development and maintenance of learning materials.
  • Technical acumen to support development of an in-depth understanding of assigned products/solutions.
  • Proactively and creatively analyze training needs and define effective learning solutions that align with customer and organizational goals.
  • Function independently and use critical thinking to plan, deliver, and continuously improve training programs.
  • Effectively interact and build relationships at various levels of customer and internal organizations.
  • Present information effectively to audiences ranging from individual learners to large groups, across virtual, onsite, 1:1, and group settings.
  • Collaborate as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain accurate, current training content.
  • Coach and support the onboarding and ongoing development of other training team members.
  • Adapt to changes in product, process, or strategy in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Willingness to learn a variety of HealthStream platforms and products, and to commit to ongoing learning to maintain competence in assigned products/solutions.

Compensation
  • The salary range for this position is $61,712 - $80,000. Salary will be determined on the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with skills, relevant experience, and performance in similar roles.
