Description

The Training Specialist is responsible for talent management systems, including developing, and implementing virtual training activities throughout the organization, specializing in training programs for all personnel, including customer service, admissions, compliance, and new employee. This position helps identify training needs and designs support materials including audio-visual aids, computer presentations, manuals, workbooks, and scripts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBLITIES, AND EXPECTATIONS

• Manage and maintain talent management system to include system configuration and maintenance; 

• Serve as the primary internal contact for user accounts, maintenance and troubleshooting;

• Test course functionality; 

• Work with enrollments and waitlists;

• Regularly report metrics;

• Review system notifications;

• Create and publish current and future curricula;

• Conduct pre- and post-event surveys;

• Create training catalogs and calendars;

• Develop plans for training new hires; 

• Assessment and performance evaluations;

• Design, deploy, and deliver training programs for new hire on-boarding, skill development and reinforcement training;

• Develop and maintain training tools, including worksheets, scripts, templates, databases and reports;

• Identify training opportunities, evaluate trends, conduct online webinars and manage the online learning management system;

• Use a variety of instructional methods to ensure maximum delivery effectiveness, including role play sessions, monitored simulations and problem-solving scenarios;

• Monitor trainees’ knowledge before and after training to help determine follow-up training required;

• Work closely with management in the admissions rep evaluation process to identify skills and areas needing improvement;

• Work one-on-one with employees to reinforce skills taught during training sessions;

• Evaluate training effectiveness and modify training programs as needed;

• Create interactive, multimedia presentations;

• Represent the Institute and all affiliated brands in a professional and positive light at all times;

• Regular, consistent, on-time attendance is an essential function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Human Resources, Instructional Design or equivalent;

• Minimum of 1 – 3 years of experience and/or training and education in adult learning concepts;

• Prior experience with talent management systems preferred;

• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in the education industry;

• Solid working knowledge of applicable federal and state government regulations.

• Strong knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite;

• Clear and succinct communication, both verbally and in writing with a diverse community, student population and with employees and management at all levels of the company; 

• Listen to a wide-range of issues from different sources and understandable solutions; 

• Strong interpersonal and employee relations skills;

• Strong verbal communication, written communication, listening, record keeping and information management.
