Position Summary
Undergraduate Academic Advisor 1 to provide and document one on one advice to undergraduate students regarding degree and program options, academic standards, general education, prerequisite requirements, and major courses for specific degrees.
Responsibilities
  • Consults and/or elevates outstanding matters that students may have to staff that are more senior.
  • Advises students’ dealing with academic, probationary, and financial concerns.
  • Reviews and processes add/drop withdrawals and program changes. Acquires information for students, including academic, career, financial, psychological, etc., resources.
  • Assists and participates in student orientation.
  • Prepares packets for orientation sessions and presents orientation materials.
  • Assists with teaching the student survey course.
  • Utilizes established materials with few alterations to convey content effectively.
  • Attends training and grades course assignments.
  • Works on assigned advising projects.
  • Performs administrative tasks to support counseling-related functions assigned by Director, which includes performing other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies opportunities for projects and recommends to management.
  • Engages in professional development, participates in unit and university-level opportunities.

Master’s Degree. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
