Undergraduate Advisor - Politics (1 Year Fixed-Term) Full Description

Position Summary: 
Arts & Science is seeking a dedicated Undergraduate Advisor to join the Department of Politics. This Undergraduate Advisor is a 1-year fixed term role. This position will advise prospective and current undergraduate students of requirements, courses, policies and procedures. Assess student academic progress and identify eligibility for special academic support. Assist the Director with administrative and non-academic student matters. Provide additional administrative services for academic programming. 

Qualifications: 
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience advising on program or service options, planning various activities and events.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years in a Higher Education environment. Advising students at a college or university level.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to provide advice, problem solve, and interact with individuals at all levels. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Additional Information: 
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
