Job Summary

Our public radio station, 91.3 WUKY, a part of the University of Kentucky and central Kentucky community, is seeking a Sponsorship Sales Associate to join our team.

As a Sponsorship Sales Associate, you will be responsible for achieving WUKY’s sales goals through your own direct sales efforts and by participating in the implementation of sales systems and overall market strategy. This is an outside sales role that focuses on executing a consultative sales approach, selling sponsorships for broadcast messages, digital ads, events, and podcasts. Your ability to build relationships with local businesses and organizations that align with our mission will be crucial in driving our station’s growth. We are committed to creating a stronger and more engaged audience through news, music, and stories that reflect the interests of our community. 

This position offers a competitive salary range of $42,786/year to $52,624/year, with the potential for additional earnings through a performance-based sales commission. Here is an example of what the performance-based sales commission would potentially look like:

FY25 – $300,000 in Underwriting/Sales (50% at 7% – 50% at 10%)

  • 7 % existing sales commission – $10,500
  • 10% new sales commission – $15,000
  • Total commission- $25,500

FY26 – $400,000 in Underwriting/Sales (50% at 7% – 50% at 10%)

  • 7% existing sales commission – $14,000
  • 10% new sales commission – $20,000
  • Total commission – $34,000
