Overview:
Performing Arts Services, a division of Campus Support Services, provides a broad range of event, performance, and venue support services for the Princeton University community including front of house, guest services, ticketing, logistics, venue management, and production support. The Performing Arts Services division oversees Richardson Auditorium, Lewis Arts complex, the Frist Theater, and University Ticketing and provides support for performance spaces across campus.
A member of the Performing Arts Services division of Campus Support Services, the Venue Associate for the Art Museum complex provides a broad range of facility and daily operational support for the Art Museum complex. With high visibility and a proactive approach, the Associate provides one-stop facility services, including assisting with the coordination and implementation of logistics planning, technical support, scheduling, deliveries, accessibility accommodations, guest services, and facility management. Working in support of the Venue Manager and in collaboration with complex staff, the Associate provides support with technical expertise and service excellence.
The Venue Associate supports class activity throughout the complex. The Associate serves as a first responder for any class emergency technology needs and assists with support for the use of the object study rooms.
The Venue Associate assists with planning and implementation for events. The Associate supports advanced planning, including scheduling, setup, and event plans, as well as day-of support.
The Venue Associate supports the Venue Manager in working closely with Facilities and the Art Museum facility team to help coordinate all facility maintenance and upkeep schedules and needs, including outside vendors as necessary.
The Venue Associate provides exceptional support for users of the spaces and fosters excellent relationships with the Art Museum complex and the broader University community. As part of the Campus Support Services team, the Venue Associate assists with major University functions, including convocations, and participates in department functions and committees.
The position has flexible hours, including nighttime and weekends, to provide needed support for classes and events. Typical shifts include 9 am – 5 pm, 10 am – 6 pm, and 3 pm – 11 pm, depending on the class and event schedule of the day.

Responsibilities:
Support for daily operations of the complex
- Provides operational support for events, assisting with logistics plan development and implementation of support plans
- Serves as an event supervisor for external events, including corporate sponsors and external department use of the complex
- Provides operational support for classes, assisting with the physical space and technical setups
- Serves as a first responder for AV needs in classrooms and occasionally provides AV operational support during classes
- When possible, provides AV support for meetings in the complex
- Partners with Campus Dining/Restaurant Associates to support the operations of the Mosaic restaurant
- Provides supplemental support for mail and package deliveries
Assistance with scheduling and ticketing
- Assists with scheduling of internal and external use of the space using the EMS scheduling system
- Serves as a backup for departments with scheduling requests
- As needed, assists with ticketing setup and configuration
- Provides technical support and training for new users
Assists with facility maintenance
- Assists with upkeep, repair, custodial support, and replacement of furnishings and equipment
Additional leadership duties include:
- Major event support, including University convocations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in multi-use venues, such as art museums, student/campus centers, performing arts venues, event management, or comparable experience
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience with arts management, production, and event support, or comparable experience
- Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment
- Willingness and ability to work with a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and be a problem solver
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated understanding of the operations of museums
- Experience and working knowledge of academic settings
- Proficient computer skills
