The opportunity
The Vice President of Academic Programs (VPAP) in the Global Campus (GC) provides strategic leadership in the implementation , and assessment of learning experiences. This includes student outcomes for learning experiences serving more than 200,000 students, and performance and training of clinical faculty and part-time faculty in online academic programs. They provide direction on measurements in areas such as faculty success, student success, retention, graduation, completion, academic rigor, integrity, and quality.
The VPAP serves a team consisting of Schedule Forecasting and Faculty Services, Academic Associate Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, and Deans in the graduate and undergraduate areas of study.

You will lead more than 9,000 part-time and full-time employees in a student-focused environment. You will report to the Deputy Provost and collaborate with other Vice Presidents to maximize the probability of student success in high-quality academic programs.
Additionally, the VPAP works with peers in the traditional ground campus, competency-based, alternative credentials, and international, ensuring cohesion across all learning experiences at the University.

SNHU is an organization that requires readiness to navigate and negotiate across multiple modalities - traditional, online, and CBE. Understanding the application of policies across units is a must and they will partner with colleagues across the University in doing so.
The VPAP ensures excellence and accountability in performance and behavior at every level, starting with themselves and continuing throughout the academic management organization from academic associate vice presidents to adjunct faculty. You are an important partner in academic procedures, academic governance, and accreditation activities.

The VPAP must excel in an environment that is committed to two things—student success and team support.

What you'll do:
  • Provide academic leadership, development and accountability in curriculum development, faculty effectiveness, and academic policy development.
  • Work with other Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, Executive Directors, Administrators and Deans to achieve Global Campus goals.
  • Promote communication among partners with an emphasis on communication with Academics, Marketing, Advising and Admissions, product, campus, and other units to ensure student success.
  • Operate as an important partner in the development and assessment of student learning experiences including programs, courses and micro credentials.
  • Have stewardship over budgets within academic management.
  • Understanding of business systems of higher education (SIS, CRM, portals, LMS, and curriculum management).
  • Understanding of operational possible effects and improving efficiencies across teams
  • Become a visible representative of the University at professional conferences and member organization events.
  • Reliability and occasional onsite presence are essential functions of this role
  • We may assign other responsibilities, or activities at any time

What we're looking for:
  • Minimum of 10 years of administrative and academic experience at/above/equivalent to Dean Level. Education: Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Substantial direct experience with online education. Knowledge of different learning models.
  • Experience with organizational development, change, and culture.
  • Experience with curriculum development and outcomes assessment.
  • Experience working with accreditation organizations.
  • Acquire and use data to identify opportunities for improvement in student success metrics and learning experiences.
  • Balance traditional academic practices the expressed mission of expanding higher education to underserved, unserved and underrepresented populations by increasing accessibility and affordability.

CompensationThe annual pay range for this position is $200,000.00 - $400,000.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
