AoPS seeks an experienced math educator to lead the AoPS educational content development teams as they produce curricular materials that inspire and train the next generation of great problem solvers. The AoPS VP of Academics is responsible for monitoring our pedagogical success through developing and monitoring key learning attainment measures. The VP of Academics is also responsible for ensuring AoPS has outstanding talent identification and development processes within our content teams, and effective and efficient content creation, review, and improvement procedures. As a member of the AoPS leadership team, the VP of Academics will contribute to strategic investment decisions, serve as the voice of students and educators, and shape company culture, process, and structure.

The VP of Academics will:

Manage the leads of curriculum in mathematics & science, language arts, and computer science, as well as the manager of art for educational content.
Determine the KPIs used to evaluate the effectiveness of AoPS content in serving the company mission.
Develop criteria for hiring, evaluation, and promotion of educational content developers.
Serve as the representative of academic content development on the company leadership team.
Report to the AoPS Board of Directors and AoPS leadership teams on educational attainment and engagement measures.
Establish, evaluate, and refine training programs for new team members.
Allocate team resources to business lines as informed by company leadership.
Establish processes and cadences for content production, ongoing review, and improvement.

The ideal candidate has:

Extensive prior experience in math and math education.
Excellent taste in pedagogical approaches.
Managed teams, preferably spanning multiple functions.
Managed managers of teams.
Worked with high-interest, high-potential students.
Hired team members at various levels of experience for a range of positions.
Developed and implemented processes, training programs, and performance measures for large organizations.
