JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of IST is seeking applicants for part-time job of Web Designer and Developer.

Job duties to include:

  • Search for hosting website and domain registration solutions
  • Research other academic websites and collect best practices to brainstorm ideas 
  • Adopt and integrate WordPress as the CMS for website development 
  • Create wireframes, mockup and prototypes for layouts, color schemes and typography
  • Ensure flow, user navigation and optimal usability 
  • Update content and create a short manual on how to update the website after the design and development phase
  • Revise and upgrade the design to get the final desired version
  • Assuring that website works smoothly on different platforms (mobile and tablets)
  • Complete a testing on functionality, content (spelling and grammar), and performance. 

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

  • Understanding of website design (hosting services, domain subscription) process
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), in specific WordPress
  • Basic understanding in HTML 5 and CSS 3.
  • Ability to design a functionally flowless website that works across other platforms 
  • Have a good taste on design (colors, typography, layouts and UX)
  • Be detailed oriented, independent problem solver and professional with great work ethics 

Compensation:

The starting rate for this job is $15.
