About the Role
We're seeking a talented Web Developer who combines technical expertise with design sensibility to create exceptional web experiences. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up, translating design mockups into responsive, SEO-optimized, and performance-focused websites. You will work with PHP, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL to build and maintain scalable, secure web solutions. A strong understanding of the WordPress REST API, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies is essential. You’ll troubleshoot and debug issues, ensure cross-browser compatibility, and uphold web security and WordPress coding standards. Ideal candidates will have a keen eye for design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while staying current with the latest industry trends.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes from scratch
- Create custom plugins to extend WordPress functionality
- Convert designs into responsive, WordPress-compliant themes
- Optimize website performance and implement SEO best practices
- Troubleshoot and debug existing WordPress sites
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
- Maintain and update WordPress core, themes, and plugins
- Implement security measures and best practices
What You’ll Have
Required:
- 3+ years of WordPress development experience
- Strong proficiency in:
- PHP
- HTML5/CSS3
- JavaScript
- MySQL
- WordPress Theme Development
- WordPress Plugin Development
- Experience with:
- Custom post types and taxonomies
- WordPress REST API
- Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Git version control
- Responsive design principles
- Cross-browser compatibility
- Understanding of:
- WordPress coding standards

- Page speed optimization

- Experience with:
- Sass/LESS
- Modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js)
- Build tools (Gulp, Webpack)
- WordPress Multisite
- Portfolio demonstrating custom WordPress projects
- Contributions to WordPress community or open-source projects
- Experience with PERL/ ModPERL
Additional Information:
- This is a temporary, part-time position scheduled for 20 hours per week over a period of 180 days (approximately 6 months) and hired through our staffing partner, HR Options.
- Pay Range: $38.46 - $48.08/ Hour
