UNC Charlotte is hiring an Academic Advisor I. The role involves engaging students in personal development and academic planning, supporting them through major and career exploration, and ensuring they receive accurate information to facilitate their academic success. The advisor will independently manage advising responsibilities while collaborating with faculty and campus partners to promote student achievement and progression toward graduation.
Highlights
- Advise students assigned within the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences to help them explore and pursue academic and career goals.
- Provide individual and group advising through various communication methods including virtual and in-person meetings.
- Support new student orientation, onboarding, and consistent communication with students.
- Stay current on curricula and academic policies relevant to advised programs.
- Use academic advising technologies such as Connect (EAB), DegreeWorks, Slate, ReportCentral, and Banner.
- Master's degree required, with strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Preferred experience includes academic advising in higher education and familiarity with Banner, EAB, Slate, DegreeWorks, and Salesforce.
- Salary range: $55,000 - $56,650 annually.
