Job Description  | Job Description:
The Academic Support Specialist for the MSTB division will assist with the creation of promotional materials, manage event logistics, and support ongoing projects within the division. The role requires creativity, organizational skills, and effective communication to ensure successful delivery of tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides coverage and office assistance to the MSTB Office. Will assist students and faculty as needed, answer office phones, keep forms stocked, and assist with projects as indicated by the Associate Deans. Will help manage faculty print requests, assist with program inventory management as needed, and provide coverage of the division office as necessary. Collaborate with faculty and staff on special initiatives to support student engagement and success. Act as the point of contact for event attendees and manage registration processes. Develop and maintain a calendar of division events and communicate it to students and staff. Maintain organized records and files for projects and events. Assist with budget tracking for event expenses and materials. Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the division. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop content that aligns with the division’s goals.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Required KSAs: Project coordination & organization skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to be professional and confidential. Strong organizational and project management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of marketing strategies and best practices for promotional materials. 
Minimum Work Experience: Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva. Experience in event planning, logistics coordination, or administrative support. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Experience managing social media platforms and online content. Experience working with diverse populations and community engagement.
Additional Considerations  | Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a higher education or academic setting. Experience using event management software or tools. Experience with student engagement strategies and academic program promotion.
