Position Summary Information 
Job Description Summary  | The TLC trains Academic Mentors to assist students in achieving success in their overall coursework. They provide students with learning skills and study strategies that enhance their ability to learn course content and experience a more balanced and successful university experience.

Responsibilities  |
Provide positive support and encouragement to students Assisted students in learning and applying current study strategies such as time management, goal setting, note taking, etc. Adhere to all TLC and university policies and procedures Attend orientation and other meetings as scheduled Complete all assignments/documentation required by TLC and Payroll on time Commit to the work schedule for the entire semester Complete all required paperwork Promote the services of the TLC. Must attend weekly training meetings Meet weekly with an assigned student(s)

Required Qualifications  | 3.25 GPA or better Junior, Senior, or Grad Student Completed Faculty Recommendation Form Demonstrate patience and compassion for the candidate’s fellow students Personal accountability and reliability regarding work schedule. Enjoy learning.

Desired Qualifications  | Experience working with a diverse group of university students with a variety of learning styles and challenges. Prior utilization of TLC services Tutoring experience
