POSITION SPECIFICS
Join the College of the Liberal Arts as an Academic Program Coordinator to provide key administrative support to the Department of Psychology undergraduate programs. 

The Academic Program Coordinator supports undergraduate academic operations, advising services, course scheduling, graduation certification, events, and data management, while ensuring compliance with University, College, and departmental policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate undergraduate academic program operations including student records, registration changes, course scheduling, and classroom/exam logistics across University Park and World Campus.  
  • Help resolve student, faculty, and staff inquiries; directing appointments; and resolving complex scheduling, registration, and graduation issues.
  • Partner with the advising team to manage course enrollment requirements, including prerequisites, exceptions, cancellations, and grade changes.  
  • Administer graduation processes by verifying eligibility, maintaining graduation lists, processing substitutions/exemptions, and coordinating departmental commencement events.
  • Manage academic systems and operational infrastructure (e.g., LionPATH, 25Live, internal databases), supporting course scheduling, classroom assignments, course enrollment rules, and student data tracking for reporting and program review.
  • Support the administration of the departmental research subject pool and independent study processes, including approvals, tracking participation, and awarding credit. 
  • Provide backup support for graduate program operations and assist with departmental website content and social media communications. 
World Campus referenced above refers to the online campus of Penn State; LionPATH is Penn State's student information system.
The Academic Program Coordinator will also regularly use Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Workday, and Penn State's iTwo (used for data access, analysis, and distribution).
