Pay Range  | The compensation for this appointment will range from $26.00 to $27.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Position Summary Information 
Summary  | The primary goals will always be to extend California Baptist University’s brand’s reach, by coordinating and implementing marketing plans for the athletic department and its athletic programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Other duties may be assigned. Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department. Assist in executing short and long-term strategic plans to increase brand awareness, attendance and revenue for men’s and women’s sports. Assist in creating marketing plans and fan engagement strategies for assigned programs. Co-lead on-campus marketing strategy to reach students, faculty, and staff and increase attendance withing these groups. Assist Ticketing in community outreach plans enhancing relationships with community groups, churches, chambers, and businesses with a focus on increasing attendance for home sporting events. Distribute marketing materials for sponsors, vendors, campus departments and other key audiences. Help develop promotions schedule for Lancer athletics, research, and purchase promotional items for selected games. Assist in executing Jr. Lancers Kids Club experiences at home games. Communicate with coaches marketing strategies and the gameday experience. Discuss improvements and review marketing and fan engagement requests made by coaching staff. Represent California Baptist University athletics when attending community events, luncheons, business meetings, etc., as requested. Maintain up-to-date information of sports regulations, rule changes, conference and NCAA policies, and report all compliance issues to compliance office. Co-write PA scripts for assigned CBU Athletic events. Work with student interns to create marketing plans to increase student and faculty/staff awareness of on-campus athletic events; maximizing use of flyers, hard signage, and on-campus digital signage. Make recommendations on improving live gameday fan experiences. Lead all marketing and fan engagement duties for assigned sport including set-up and in game responsibilities. Assist in scheduling and providing direction of CBU Crazies and Marketing Interns. Assist Associate Athletic Director of External with corporate sales and sponsorships.

Supervisory Responsibilities  | This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, in order to complete office work assignments.

Ability to work nights, weekends/holidays. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body. Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge and experience. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Education and/or Experience  | Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior collegiate sports and/or professional experience strongly preferred with emphasis on fan engagement and sports marketing.
