Job Description

The Assistant Director / Business Operations is responsible for collecting, logging, and processing documentation/transactions such as departmental invoices and travel reimbursements for the Athletics Department, and ensuring the coding of all expenditures is in accordance with department, Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act, and NCAA reporting requirements. This position may be required to track and report payment of expenditures and other projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
Experience organizing electronic and paper records.
Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with and demonstrated knowledge of Banner/PeopleSoft/Oracle Fusion Cloud, eVA, Chrome River, and/or workflow systems (Teamworks).
Working knowledge of Virginia Tech Foundation policies and procedures.
Bachelors degree.
Experience in business administration or similar field.
Working knowledge of NCAA Division I Bylaws.
Experience working in a Division I Athletic Department.
Working knowledge of university and state financial policies and procedures regarding payment processing and personal reimbursements.
