University of Florida is hiring an Assistant Director of Career Services and Advisor. The advisor leads career counseling and advising for J.D. and LL.M. students and graduates of the Levin College of Law, guiding resume drafting, interview preparation, and job search strategy. The role also builds out judicial clerkship programming and tracks student progress toward graduation, bar passage, and employment.
Highlights
Advise law students and graduates on career goals, coursework choices, and job search strategy.
Guide resume drafting, cover letters, interview preparation, and employer identification.
Counsel law graduates changing jobs or career direction, including networking and interview support.
Design and run judicial clerkship programming, workshops, and outreach.
Track clerkship opportunities and advise students on application strategy and materials.
Monitor student progress using electronic databases to keep students on pace to graduate and pass the bar.
Develop training and materials that support faculty advising and student self-advising.
Master's degree and 3 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
Juris Doctor and legal practice experience preferred, along with knowledge of law firm, clerkship, and government career paths.
