Assistant Director, Salomon Center Full Description

Position Summary: 
NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director in the NYU Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Intermediation and the Finance Department. The Assistant Director will assist the Directors in strategically planning and executing high-profile conferences, seminars, and events for the Salomon Center. Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiations, catering, A/V and technical requirements, and on-site coordination. Identify, establish and maintain critical business relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with Development, Public Affairs, and Marketing teams to promote events, respond to media requests, and increase visibility through targeted outreach efforts, digital marketing, and press engagement. Develop and manage budgets for events and special initiatives. Conduct comprehensive post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from attendees, speakers, and partners to assess success and identify areas for improvement. 

Qualifications: 
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (a Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism, or MBA is preferred) and 3+ years relevant experience in event planning, program coordination, or related fields. Must include experience managing large-scale events and multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management tools, such as Google Forms, Zoom webcasts, and SurveyMonkey. Familiarity with academic institutions and financial organizations and knowledge of CRM platforms and advanced event management software is preferred.

Additional Information: 
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
