Job Summary/Basic Function | A position managing AV system processes for campus classrooms and division-managed spaces; this could include configuring, programming, installing equipment, and the troubleshooting of system issues across campus locations.
This position will work with FM and project managers to implement technology in designated locations and to aid in purchasing the hardware that meets the needs of the faculty in the classroom and owners of conference rooms and event spaces.
Person will build quotes as requested, ensure funding sources are designated and available for those purchases by working with those requesting and paying for the equipment.
May be asked to lead small and large projects to completion and report on progress throughout the project lifecycle.
Position will work primarily on the Ogden campus, but may be required to work on projects at other campus locations (Davis Campus, Farmington, etc.). Work from home is not available.
Required Qualifications | Required: Bachelor’s degree in technology field (computer science, IS&T, networks, engineering, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Extron Control Professional (within first year of hire). 2 years experience installing/troubleshooting Audio Visual (AV) media systems, technology equipment and additional components. (concurrent acceptable) 2 years AV system design and configuration experience with an emphasis on use cases such as classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, video conference rooms etc. (concurrent acceptable) 1 year Project management experience/knowledge for AV systems. (concurrent acceptable)
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred: Critical soft skills include: Customer Service/Focus, Problem Solving, Technical Learning, Instructing Avixa Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or CTS-D Extron Control Professional Crestron SIMPL Programming Q-SYS Control Basic understanding of IP networking Basic programming knowledge for AV or other enterprise systems (such as Python, SQL) Basic understanding of the following: Microsoft AD, Group Policies, and Windows, Mac operating systems; project management tools/programs (Ex: Asana) and official storage and password management systems (Ex: Box, Google Drive, Bitwarden, etc.,)
