Position Title | Associate Dean of Educational Effectiveness
Position Summary | The College of Nursing at California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time Associate Dean. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service through the integration of the Christian faith and learning. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in education, and service activities that support the mission of the College of Nursing and the University.
Pay Range The compensation for this appointment will range from $135,000 – $150,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of
employee benefits.Qualifications We invite qualified candidates with a doctoral degree and a master’s in nursing featuring coursework in nursing administration or higher education to apply. Ideal applicants will bring academic nursing leadership, at least three years of teaching experience (including two in an accredited higher degree program), and a strong foundation in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation. Experience with program outcomes analysis, a record of teaching effectiveness and scholarship, and an active, unencumbered California RN license are also required.
Teaching Responsibilities Leadership Responsibilities: The role supports the University’s mission, champions continuous quality improvement, and embraces a broad institutional perspective. The successful candidate will lead program review and assessment efforts for the College of Nursing, collaborating closely with nursing administration and assisting the Dean in shaping and evaluating the department’s strategic plan. This position fosters program improvement, facilitates accreditation and program approval efforts, and helps prepare institutional and regulatory reports. Additionally, this leader will model service-based leadership, build consensus among students, faculty, and administration, and support faculty governance. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the Dean.
Administrative Responsibilities: Working alongside the Dean, this role promotes a scholarly and supportive environment that encourages faculty and staff development. The candidate may assist in managing student services, admissions, and data systems. Responsibilities also include resolving personnel and student issues, serving on institutional committees, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring program marketability and cost-effectiveness. Active participation in professional organizations and a commitment to staying informed about innovations in nursing practice, research, and education are essential.
Academic Responsibilities: This position includes teaching assignments aligned with the academic contract and fulfillment of all faculty duties as outlined in the University faculty handbook.
