The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Reporting to the Director for Curricular Strategy and Planning, the incumbent works closely with the Director and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs to help identify and finalize the curriculum and takes a central role in all elements of work of the curricular process. This includes managing the curricular databases (BORIS and Coursedog). The incumbent will also assist the Director with emerging academic affairs issues, and serve as the liaison between various faculty members and administrative offices.

Responsibilities
Curricular Planning
Manage faculty teaching preferences and curricular conflicts. When the curriculum is set, reviews meeting times and minutes to ensure compliance with ABA Standard 310 and NY Court of Appeals rules regarding meeting times. Works with the Director for Curricular Strategy and Planning to create an easily accessible and transparent database of faculty information related to curriculum design. Works with IT to ensure full utilization of CourseDog software in identifying faculty preferences and room utilization, and to ensure course information is entered into software to facilitate creation of curriculum guide.

Curriculum Scheduling
Creates and updates the annual Law School course schedule, according to curricular data provided by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and/or the Director of Curricular Strategy and Planning. Ensures compliance with ABA and NY Court of Appeals requirements for instructional duration. Utilizes Coursedog scheduling software, cross-trains administrators on its use, and continues to evaluate software solutions. Disseminates course schedule to the Law School community. Ensures curriculum guide is updated for publication. Creates new courses in BORIS and coordinates handoff of room schedules and Curriculum Guide to the Office of Registration Services.

Adjunct Faculty Program and Overload Visitors
Manages the Adjunct Faculty Program, with over 400 instructors, including overload visitors. Works closely with the adjunct committee to confirm adjunct appointments and courses. In coordination with colleagues in the Office of Human Resources, generates offer letters and assists with onboarding of new and continuing adjunct instructors and overload visitors. Ensure adjunct faculty members and overload visitors are aware of information needed to successfully teach and submit grades.

Administration
Provides high-level administrative support to relevant faculty committees, including Adjunct Instructors Committee and Curriculum Committee. Works with committee chairs to identify and address potential overlaps and gaps in the curriculum.

Teaching points
Maintains the database and tracks teaching points.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. degree required; advanced degree preferred. 4-6 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Student Information Systems preferred, and experience working with databases required.
  • Proficiency with standard office software, including programs such as Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as is the ability to work effectively and creatively with graduate students and faculty as well as with administrators in other areas of the University.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently in a high volume/high pressure environment, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously with short deadlines are essential.
  • Must be able to work with diverse constituencies and support an inclusive work environment.
