The Associate Director, Learning Design uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Associate Director, Learning Design requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

About the Role:
As the Associate Director, Learning Design, you will lead a talented team of Learning Design Professionals responsible for onboarding new associates within PPNO and advancing our bite-sized learning initiatives. You will reimagine and modernize our current training methods, plan and execute education strategies, and design effective learning solutions that drive measurable results. From storyboards and scripts to performance support tools, mobile learning modules, and comprehensive manuals, your work will shape the learning experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of content creators and training instructors, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Remain current on adult learning strategies in a business setting and on industry trends in the learning space.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to assess current and anticipated hiring needs, and enhance the skill sets of new associates to ensure they are well-prepared for success in operational roles upon onboarding.
- Analyze learning needs and partner with subject matter experts to ensure course content aligns with organizational objectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain engaging curricula, training materials, and job performance aids for new hires and existing staff. Implement an efficient hybrid training approach that incorporates gamification, microlearning, computer-based modules, and strategies to reduce onboarding time for new associates
- Utilize instructional design principles, cognitive psychology, and adult learning theory to close knowledge and performance gaps.
- Leverage internal social media and collaborative tools to enhance learning engagement.
- Provide guidance and instruction to Facilitators, ensuring the highest quality of training delivery.
- Track and analyze program effectiveness using data such as learner satisfaction, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
- Present creative ideas and influence senior leadership, guiding teams through change and aligning with broader business strategy.
- Resolve complex technical and operational challenges, leading multiple highly specialized professionals.

- Proven leadership of teams in a complex, cross-functional environment.
- Expertise in analyzing, organizing, and developing impactful learning content.

- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving measurable business outcomes through learning solutions.

Required Qualifications – What it takes to Succeed
- Minimum of 4 years of management experience
- Minimum of 5 years expertise in analyzing, organizing, and developing impactful learning content
- Progressive business and financial analytics experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theories
- Prior experience working in a consumer centric company leading the learning function or related function
- Prior demonstrated capability leading teams and developing and maintaining a dynamic and high performing team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in a health care and/or Insurance setting

Work at Home Requirements
• To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
· At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
· Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
· Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
· Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
· Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$115,200 - $158,400 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
