Associate Vice President, IT Support Full Description

Position Summary: The Associate Vice President (AVP) for IT is a transformational executive leader tasked with orchestrating technology alignment across one of the world's most complex and prestigious global research universities. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between Global centralized IT services and the diverse, decentralized academic and administrative ecosystem, the AVP harmonizes enterprise-grade capabilities with localized, cutting-edge innovation. The AVP will lead a diverse team ensuring that localized technology strategies align with global university goals. Additionally, the AVP will drive a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and strategic relationship management across the global network university. As a core member of the NYU IT Leadership Team, the AVP contributes directly to university-wide IT strategy, governance, and resource allocation.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
10+ years progressively responsible experience with complex technology security and privacy systems and issues. Must be familiar with security and privacy compliance requirements, such as PCI, FERPA, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley. and 5+ years experience managing technical staff.

Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders, and successfully manage risk, change and innovation. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Ability to think strategically and collaboratively build strategic plans. Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic decentralized work environment. Ability to lead, manage and develop staff. Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions that meet organizational needs.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience leading and developing first and second line managers. Experience in information technology organizations. Experience in higher education, preferably a major research university.

Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $375,000.00 to USD $425,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
