About the Opportunity
As a partner to the Senior Director, Global Benefits, the Benefits Analyst will engage with employees, managers, business partners and vendors to provide superior service in benefits administration, benefits onboarding, policy development, system improvement, employment law compliance, program implementation, communications, and education to ensure a positive employee experience. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.

Where you will make an impact 
  • Support the administration of Ellucian’s comprehensive U.S. and company-wide global employee benefits programs to meet employee needs across physical and mental health, wellness, leaves, time off, retirement and perk programs.
  • Responsible for answering Tier 1 tickets generated by employees in the Employee Support Center or AI powered assistant. Escalates Tier 2 and Tier 3 tickets to appropriate Benefits Team member.
  • Responsible for monitoring benefit management systems, human resources information systems and file feeds ensuring data accuracy across all systems. Identify and investigate issues and execute upon solutions and system improvements.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefit programs and company policies, providing timely and thorough resolution. Escalate complex issues to vendors or benefit team members.
  • Host weekly new hire benefits orientation session providing employees with an engaging onboarding experience and smooth integration into Ellucian benefits.
  • Manage and support all leaves of absence including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Parental Leave, Bonding Leave and Military Leave. Work with employees, managers, leadership, and third-party administrator to maintain communication and appropriate system status. Continuously improve the process and communications to support the employee experience.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accuracy of benefit deductions such as benefit premiums, 401(k) elections, pre-tax and post-tax elections and leave pay by perform regular audits and reconciliations. Relay relevant updates to payroll in advance of each payroll cycle.
  • In partnership with the benefits team and vendor partners, develop and deliver creative communication activities and events to engage employees in learning about available benefits options, enrollment procedures, changes in benefits programs and/or educational opportunities to support their personal health and well-being.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities including system integrations, program implementations and communications to support and deliver an effective annual program renewal.
  • Responsible for benefit vendor billing process including new vendor set up/InfoSec and tracking of spend against purchase orders. Audit and submit invoices for timely payment.
  • Support internal reporting and external audits as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with outside vendors providers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the People Team and organization to support and promote Ellucian programs, initiatives, and activities.
  • • Support international benefits programs as assigned, contributing to the administration, compliance, and employee experience of global total rewards initiatives.
  • Support other projects as assigned.

What you will bring
  • 2-4 years of experience in employee benefit administration.
  • Thorough understanding of employee benefits regulations, people processes and confidentiality, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other relevant laws.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and analyze trends.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with third party Benefits Administrator (such as bswift or Alight) highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Paylocity highly desired.
  • Experience with CRMs (ServiceNow, Salesforce) highly desired.
  • Passion for creating and providing a top-notch employee experience in a fast-paced, highly collaborate environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish highly desired to support effective communication across diverse employee populations.
