 Position Summary Information 
Primary Purpose  | Under general direction, responsible for supporting the Business and Finance Manager in developing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets and costs of the division, including units and programs on all three campuses.
Essential Functions  | Prepares and reviews salary actions, budget transfers and journal vouchers for compliance with University policies and procedures, availability of budget, and appropriateness of use of Division funds in relation to Division priorities. Serves as a contact and representative between unit managers and the Pacific Technology Division Business Office for planning and monitoring of annual budgets. Communicates professionally with the VP for Technology, managers of all technology units, University Budget Office, Financial Reporting, and Human Resources. Maintains all detailed salary, operating, and project budgets for the division. This includes analyzing operating expenses, tracks salary savings, etc. Prepares detailed budgetary forecasts for the division, identifying sources of Divisional permanent and temporary salary savings and Divisional funding needs. Meets with Managers and VP for Technology on a quarterly basis to review operational budgets to discuss expenses, overtime and opportunities for budget reallocation. Prepares recommendations for funding competing and dynamic Divisional budget requests. Prepares the Division’s financial dashboard, detailed budget charts, tables, and spreadsheets in support of a variety of budgetary analyses and special projects involving units on three campuses. Responsible for the dissemination of monthly expense, overtime and executive summary reports either on a monthly or quarterly basis. Prepares analyses for use by campus administrators for planning, budget, and other presentations. Responsibilities include the identification of relevant and usable data sources, selecting appropriate methods of data collection and data analysis, and reporting of conclusions, implications, and recommendations. Assists in development of electronic spreadsheets and reports to facilitate planning and decision-making. ServiceNow Business Office support of divisional ticketing system by reviewing tickets and funneling questions and responses to University faculty, students and staff. Analyze spend for department operational budgets and reoccurring monthly expenses to identify opportunities for cost savings. Responsible for reconciling and sending monthly bills and/or recoveries to University Departments. Assists with the procurement life cycle of Pacific Technology acquisition, including processing requisitions, approvals, contract renewals, purchase orders, and expense reports. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years of experience in accounting or related functions.
Preferred Qualifications  | Higher Education experience. Ellucian Banner experience. Working knowledge of budgeting, accounting and accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budgetary analyses and to address a variety of unit/divisional/campus issues or budgetary problems. Experience using Power BI or related tools for financial modeling, forecasting, and operational reporting. Computer skills sufficient to query large data stores, verify data integrity, and organize results in a meaningful way. Creative and analytical skills that allow for interpretation of budgetary, financial, institutional research data, and related management information. Ability to perform duties using highest level of confidentiality and respect for others. Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft clear and concise professional reports and correspondence. Strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize workload under the pressure of competing assignments. Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work can be performed in a standard office environment. Hours and days are flexible. May require additional time as business or critical timelines demand. Travel required locally to off-site campuses.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
