Wilson Language training is growing and is looking to hire a Business Development Representative.

A business development representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities. This role involves outreach to potential customers through dedicated, strategic, and focused outbound pursuit, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the sales team. The BDR will work closely with Inside Sales Representatives and Outside Sales Account Executives and keep the sales funnel full of qualified prospects and identified opportunities.

BDR must be a high-energy, confident, and motivated sales professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. BDR should be a self-start willing to call on potential customers at the office and at the project level.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Proactively identify, research, and reach out to potential leads for Inside Sales Rep and Outside Account Executives through various channels such as cold calling and emails.
  • Evaluate and qualify leads based on specific criteria, ensuring they align with the company's target market and have a high potential for conversion.
  • Schedule meetings or product demonstrations between qualified prospects and the sales team to further discuss solutions and close sales
  • Collaborate with the sales team by providing detailed lead information, following up on outreach efforts, and ensuring a smooth transition from prospecting to closing.
  • Continuously research and monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lead interactions, activity tracking, and status in the company’s CRM/
  • Initiate outbound communications with potential clients, using a combination of phone calls, emails, and cadences.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics and KPIs, including the number of outbound calls, leads generated, appointments set, and opportunities created.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align strategies and create targeted campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging and outreach.
  • Nurture relationships with prospects that are not ready to buy immediately, maintaining contact until they are prepared to move forward with the sales process.
  • Assist with quoting and Pos when needed during the busy season.

Minimum Requirements Skills:
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls).
  • Self-starter with ability to set goals and tasks.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
  • Exceptional persuasive verbal and written communication skills with excellent telephone skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to perform quality work.
  • Fearless, unwilling to fail mentality, optimist.
  • Customer focused and highly responsive.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office and CRM software.
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations.

Education or Certification:
  • Associate degree in any field and two years of relevant sales experience or experience in a BDR role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field a plus
  • Background in elementary education or elementary teaching experience preferred.
Wilson has identified the anticipated pay range for this role based on the many factors that we consider in defining compensation levels for our roles, including market data, and internal equity considerations. Actual pay, and allocation between base and any target discretionary bonus, will vary based on geographic location, education, work experience, skills, market data, and internal equity considerations.
