Description 
Reporting to the Associate Director for Data Warehousing and BI Systems, the Business Intelligence and ELT Developer is responsible for designing and implementing Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes that support data warehousing, advanced reporting, and system integration.The Developer plays a critical role in building the University’s next-generation data infrastructure, enabling data-informed decision-making across the institution and supporting the goals outlined in the Hofstra 100 Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across campus to deliver actionable insights, improve data quality, and reduce reliance on manual reporting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Designs, implements, and maintains ELT workflows for data warehousing and system integration using Informatica IICS. Supports and enhances backend infrastructure, including data warehouses and data lakes. Enforces data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, accessibility, and compliance with institutional policies and guidelines. Applies naming conventions, metadata standards, and classification schemas within the data environment. Develops intuitive and interactive BI dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar tools. Translates business requirements into logical data models and reporting solutions that support strategic analysis. Works closely with the Enterprise Systems team to ensure reliable and timely data integrations. Participates in project planning sessions and cross-functional collaborations to support institutional reporting needs. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications 
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, required. At least 2 years of related experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Willingness and ability to learn and grow within a team environment. Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the academic, cultural and social diversity in the Hofstra University community.

Preferred Qualifications  | Two or more years of experience in a data warehouse or business intelligence environment preferred. Experience developing data pipelines or ELT workflows; Informatica IICS experience a plus. Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational and dimensional data models. Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
