The Office of Research is seeking to hire a Business Operations Specialist to join our team.

Under the management of the Director of Finance & Business Operations for the Office of Research Facilities & Infrastructure, the Business Operations Specialist will perform fiscal and administrative actions for the division. This position will also provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Research Facilities & Infrastructure and the Research Core Directors and Managers.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, the social sciences, or other job-related field. 
  • Prior USC business experience.
  •  Knowledge of USC’s systems and administrative and financial policies and procedures.
  •  Experience in grant management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Excel, Adobe, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft
  • Understanding of basic accounting and financial management principles
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations related to the specific administrative function
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Experience working as a team with Principal Investigators and technical staff
  • Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions
