Job Description | General Description of Position:
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator develops and leads educational information technology (IT), computer science (CS), and artificial intelligence (AI) activities and programs to support postsecondary students and secondary student recruitment.
Duties and Tasks: Facilitates and coordinates CTE programming at the secondary, postsecondary, and adult levels. Works with NOVA faculty and staff to coordinate, plan, implement, and assess CTE programs. Specifically focuses on IT, CS, and AI education, including curriculum development for associated activities and programs. Coordinate, develop, and contract professional development in the IT, CS, and AI subject areas for faculty, teachers, and staff to support NOVA programs. Work with community, business, and education partners to get volunteers, participants, and engagement in programs. Administrative tasks associated with assigned projects include budgeting, data collection, and reporting. Support grant-funded activities include preparing proposals, analysis of progress/implementation, data collection, and stakeholder communications. Is expected to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse college community.
*This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Required KSAs: Ability to Interact and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, corporations, and community agencies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to plan/coordinate partnership activities. Excellent presentation and strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of budgeting, data tracking and equipment inventory. Knowledge of IT, CS, or AI educational programming. Skilled in IT, CS, or AI tools and techniques. Ability to apply IT, CS or AI tools to an educational setting.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience teaching, in a formal or informal professional setting, in a STEM or related field. Experience leading IT, CS or AI educational programs (e.g. hackathon, cyberpatriot). Experience with planning and coordinating STEM activities
Additional Considerations | Additional Considerations: Knowledge or expertise in IT, CS or AI Experience developing curriculum for STEM educational programs (e.g. classroom, camp, teacher PD, makerspace). Experience in both secondary and postsecondary education.
