About the Department:The Career and Academic Services Office provides academic counseling to students, assists students and alumni in finding employment, and facilitates relations between the Scalia Law School and its alumni.
About the Position:The Career Services Program Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Career Services Office at Scalia Law School. This part-time, in-person position includes a variety of tasks. The Office operates from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Fridays. The ideal candidate is expected to work in office on Wednesdays and Fridays for a minimum of 7.5 hours per day and additional remote work as needed, with the possibility of working up to 25 hours some weeks.
Responsibilities:Provides in-office customer service to students, employers, law school staff, and other visitors;Answers and directs office phone calls;Assists with managing the generic email inbox for the Career Services Office;Enters job postings received through a variety of sources (email, online form, telephone calls, in-person) into the Symplicity CSM Job Bank;Harvests additional job postings from publicly available sources when time permits;Manages and administers the reciprocity process, including maintaining a log of all requests submitted and granted;Assists with recruiting events and other law school / career services events as needed; Assists with judicial clerkship letter processing as needed;Reviews and updates password-protected intranet using WordPress as needed; andPerforms other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience;Experience in a customer-facing administrative role;Knowledge of basic administrative processes;Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask;Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite);Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion; andStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree;Experience providing administrative support to a team;Experience in higher education, including internships, externships, part-time positions, or full-time positions; andKnowledge of law school processes and requirements.
