Job Description
The Consultant, Learning Experience Design is a member of Visa University’s Learning Experience Design community, responsible for end-to-end design, execution, and oversight of innovative learning programs that drive measurable business impact and support Visa’s global talent strategy. This role partners with professionals across Visa’s organization—including subject matter experts (SMEs), cross-functional teams, and vendors—to deliver seamless, scalable, and impactful learning experiences. The Consultant, Learning Experience Design is accountable for the full project lifecycle, from initial needs assessment through program deployment and measurement.

Essential Functions
  • Own and manage the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of global learning programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Visa’s Global Talent vision. 
  • Apply adult learning theory, cognitive science, and evidence-based instructional practices to the design and delivery of impactful learning experiences. 
  • Oversee project management for assigned programs, including planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, communications, and risk mitigation. 
  • Develop and implement robust measurement strategies for all programs, ensuring alignment with business impact and talent measurement standards. 
  • Collaborate with SMEs, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners (including operations, delivery, business enablement, and Client Services teams) to ensure seamless and timely program execution. 
  • Manage vendor relationships to scale and augment team capacity as needed. 
  • Design and facilitate engaging design workshops to ideate, prototype, and refine learning solutions. 
  • Lead and support change management strategies to drive program adoption, stakeholder buy-in, and behavioral change. 
  • Curate and recommend external content and resources as part of comprehensive, blended learning solutions. 
  • Leverage AI technologies and modern learning methods to create adaptive, engaging, and scalable learning experiences. 
  • Create immersive learning experiences utilizing various formats (e.g., eLearning, custom graphics, audio, video). 
  • Contribute to the community of learning experience designers by sharing best practices, tools, and expertise. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and recommend innovative approaches to elevate learning experiences. 
  • Effectively manage multiple projects in parallel, ensuring quality and timely delivery. 

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, learning science, and instructional design best practices, including the ability to translate theory into practical learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through deployment, including stakeholder engagement and cross-functional oversight.
  • Experience designing and facilitating workshops.
  • Proven ability to manage vendor partnerships.
  • Experience collaborating across matrixed, global organizations.
  • Proficiency in human-centered design and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Agile, Design Thinking).
  • Mastery with a variety of authoring tools (e.g., Storyline, Rise, Synthesia, Camtasia).
  • Experience designing and developing learning in diverse modalities (videos, microlearning, social/collaborative, mobile, experiential, adaptive, game-based, on-the-job, performance support).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and related learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics or learning analytics tools to measure and improve learning effectiveness.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization, time management, and escalation judgment.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and enthusiastically tackle new challenges.
  • Intellectually curious, growth mindset, receptive to feedback.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
