SALARY:
$56,600 - $69,500 per year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose:
The Clinical Career Advisor assists 3rd and 4th year students in achieving their career goals, including making the transition to clinical rotations, ongoing career exploration and refinement, preparing their applications for post-graduate residency training, and communicating their career goals to residency programs in writing and verbal application processes inherent to audition and interview season interactions. Essential Job Functions:
- Provide individual and group career advising services to students as they evaluate and refine specialty choices, to maximize their application portfolios, and assist students in creating an optimal data informed strategy for application to post-graduate residency training.
- Meet regularly with each student, in coordination with faculty career advisors, including identifying and managing any career planning issues. Document all student career counseling meetings in Navigate.
- Help students strategically and timely prepare audition and residency applications. This includes helping students learn residency program search and networking skills using national and regional search platforms and resources, as well as understanding timelines.
- Offer recommendations on how best to strategically enhance competitiveness for career goals, in line with specialty specific guidance, including collection of letters of recommendation.
- Assist students with final draft of MSPE Noteworthy Characteristics and to write a properly integrated CV and personal statement that accurately describes their motivation to pursue their career choice.
- Assist with the preparation of the MSPE’s (Dean’s Letters) as requested.
- Assist in sending career advising emails and other communications to third- and fourth-year students.
- Contribute to the process of residency applicant tracking by staying up to date on applicable criteria and data to inform individual student match risk and provide timely interventions to students to improve match probability. This includes documentation of updated student status metrics to the residency tracking sheet.
- Assist with the administration and monitoring of student progress in ERAS and other national residency application platforms as well as NRMP, SF Match and the Urology Match Program. Assist with appropriate reach out to students to ensure materials are complete and meet recommended deadlines.
- Assist students and career advisors in preparation for and throughout the duration of NRMP Match/SOAP week. This includes proactively outreaching at-risk students to create SOAP strategies.
- Develop a general knowledge and understanding of ACGME residency programs and maintain familiarity with the education and training requirements and expectations of these programs, including selection processes.
- Demonstrate and role model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, including the pre-clinical Career and Professional Development Counselors for a seamless transition to the clinical years, and with other stakeholders to facilitate achievement of excellent student outcomes.
- Collaborate on the development and enhancement of the Career Development web sites and software.
- Actively participate in required meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean or his/her designee.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Assist Clinical Education in other 3rd or 4th-year career advising responsibilities as assigned.
- Demonstrate and role model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, including the pre-clinical career advisors for a seamless transition to the clinical years.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned degree in appropriate field, such as Student Affairs Administration and/or advising, Higher Education, Social Work, Educational Psychology, Counseling, etc., from an accredited institution.
- Experience in GME.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience providing advising or counseling in education or college/university environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in an appropriate field, including counseling, higher education leadership, student services/student affairs, learning specialist, from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated experience with at-risk student populations.
- Prior experience in advising students in a healthcare setting.
