Coaching Aide Full Description

Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or on-call position. Assists in the planning, instruction (coaching), promotion and administration of a sport, game, or athletic program; assists with conditioning of players, skill development, and play techniques. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary
  • Instructing, teaching, and coaching student-athletes on game strategies and performance principles during practice and competition.
  • Must be able to organize and facilitate multiple practices per week in person or using remote platforms.
  • Conducting video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to LAN competitions.
  • Ensuring player eligibility in all collegiate leagues and competitions and maintaining player records of that eligibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications
  • Prior coaching, teaching, and/or advising experience
  • Extensive experience and credentials in Valorant
  • Significant knowledge of esports, including but not limited to general strategies, team building, skills building, and competition strategies
  • Knowledge of collegiate esports rules and regulations
