Job Description | Patrick & Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, initiating an atmosphere of care via our caring campus model, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Serving Martinsville, Henry County, Patrick County, and the southern portion of Franklin County, P&HCC is a comprehensive open-door institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree. Patrick & Henry offers 29 associate degree programs, 12 certificate programs and 38 career studies certificate programs. The college also delivers a variety of nontraditional programs such as customized workforce development training, industry-recognized certifications, developmental and transitional programs, and courses for personal enrichment.

Caring Campus is a collective effort to make students and employees feel welcome and connected to our college by instilling uplifting behaviors such as wearing name tags, warmly connecting students to necessary personnel, and openly engaging with students.
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to provide intensive case management and holistic support to at-risk adult learners by coordinating outreach, recruitment, and student success initiatives. This includes maintaining a caseload, developing individualized education plans, facilitating access to academic and support services, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and community organizations to ensure student persistence, credential attainment, and overall well-being. The role also oversees campus food security programs, including the Patriot Pantry and food truck coordination, to address basic needs and support student retention.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff across diverse backgrounds. Ability to perform office tasks independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with the public, students, faculty, and staff while providing excellent customer service. Proficiency in computer software, database management, spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail. Ability to operate current office machines such as fax, printer/copier, computer, scanner, and telephone system. Ability to support department needs and functions as directed. Ability to communicate and interact effectively, orally and in writing, with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Effectively demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to process and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to compose business correspondence utilizing proper grammar and punctuation. Working skills to operate office equipment including automated equipment, as required to accomplish the work. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a dynamic student environment and with a diverse student population. Ability to adjust to change, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks as needed. Ability to develop individual action and academic plans with students that will lead to program completion. Knowledge and understanding of the network of available state and local support services and related resources and how to access them. Effective problem-solving skills. Ability to work with college faculty and staff in support of student academic success. Experience with MS Office and Google applications. Commitment to the community college mission.
