The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is hiring a Communications & Marketing Specialist I/II. This role involves creating and maintaining content and marketing strategies for ACES communications projects and Alabama Extension initiatives, while collaborating within the Communications, Strategic Marketing, and Client Relations department to effectively promote Extension program areas.
Highlights
Create and share impact stories through news releases, promotional materials, and multiple media including digital, social, print, and video.
Develop and maintain educational content and web pages for the Alabama Extension website.
Collaborate with the communications and marketing team in staff meetings and statewide initiatives.
Perform in-state travel for gathering news and developing impact stories related to county-based programs.
Proofread and upload publications to maintain a cohesive, updated web presence.
Serve as a liaison connecting county directors with ACES Communications and Client Relations resources.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field, with Level I requiring no experience, and Level II requiring 2 years in marketing and communications including print journalism.
Essential skills include excellent writing and editing with AP style, effective communication across platforms, customer service orientation, teamwork, and professionalism.
Preferred experience includes social media management, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress.
